Salsetta

I have precisely no idea what this is called, or even if it is a real food. I simply know that that which resembles Italian salsa should be aptly named salsetta.
The mishap began when I chopped up half an onion and some garlic and fried it in a pan with olive oil. I realized immediately that there would be far too many solid bits if I added all that to tomato sauce for my angel hair pasta, so I instead added some chopped tomato, and a smidgen of tomato sauce to the concoction.
Topped off with some more olive oil and Italian seasoning, and voila! The Salsetta was born.
(By the way if anyone knows what this really is, please feel free to clarify!)
